2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHow did this whole Bernie versus Trump talk of a debate start , you ask?
Twitter.
When Hillary said she would not debate Bernie in California, nobody cared.
Instead Twitter went crazy with people saying - if Hillary won't debate Bernie in California, maybe Trump will.
It took off from there.
My guess is that the Bernie campaign and Trump heard about it and here we are.
If it happens it happens. If it doesn't it doesn't. But never underestimate the power of social media.

(50,130 posts)It was said today on MSNBC that Trump was on Kimmel last night, and the Sanders campaign had been offered to ask one question, and that was Bernie's question. Will you debate in California.
Sanders will be on Kimmel tonight.

A work buddy of mine is a die hard repug. Trump supporter. Last week he told me that he's been listening to Bernie and he really likes what Bernie he has to say. Now he's hoping he gets a chance to vote for Bernie.
He's in his 60s been a Republican his whole life. Now he's a Bernie supporter.
This right here is the reason we need to debate each other during the primaries.

(26,549 posts)You couldn't even bother to supply a single sentence to back up your claim, and yet want to complain about the lack of evidence in the OP?
Yeah....sure.
I hereby assert your username is not oberliner. Since I am asserting something is not the case, I need not provide any evidence.

(58,724 posts)I should've written: There is no evidence that your claim is true.

I guarantee Trump will come out smelling like a rose, Trump is an expert at manipulating the media he will make Bernie look like a fool.

doc03
(35,340 posts)smelling like a rose. She will be in big trouble too no doubt. The media is going to get him elected any way they can.
For the first time in weeks I have been watching MSNBC and it's same as always Trump all night. I would think there would be
a point where he would be overexposed but apparently not. I was sick of that asshole 30 years ago.

Sanders was supposed to debate Trump on Fox News in March but Trump dropped out. Instead, Fox News did a town hall with Sanders for a half hour and then Clinton for a half hour.
