So are Bernie and the Don never going to release their taxes?

Yes, I know Bernie released a single year, but that's never been the standard, ever since 1976. At the very least, every candidate should be expected to release at least a few years.

Hillary and Bill have publicly released 30 years worth, including eight returns last summer.

None has ever been asked to release speech transcripts, even though members of Congress used to be able to make paid speeches while sitting in Congress.

John Kerry was never asked for his when he ran. This is a new requirement made up just for Hillary.

11. Bernie is giving the Don cover for not releasing his. Until Bernie, we could say that

every candidate since 1976 has released several years of returns. Now we can't.

Thanks a lot, Bernie.

for the person who's already complied with the "regular" standard, you're doing what right-wingers have been doing to Hillary for decades.

Good job.

reason they haven't is because Jane prepares them and she's been busy.

Though he also wants to see her transcripts.

The Don has said he can't release his because they're being audited -- even though that is really no bar to release.

Since we know there was a huge change in the Sanders income as a consequence of that golden parachute, it is the opposite of transparent to not release the taxes that cover that period, certainly. Also, since Sanders family members -- including the spouse -- were paid for their work in the 2006 Senate run, it would probably be appropriate to just release the last ten years.

That is unlikely to happen. I think the Mrs. will make herself scarce until 8 June, at which time the media will scatter to cover other stuff as the campaign starts to dismantle itself. It's rather remarkable how 'absent' she has been of late--previously, she was all over my TV.

If Senator Sanders has a primary opponent in 2018 (assuming he will run again) he may be pressed to release that information, especially if there's additional fallout from the Burlington College financial ruin/closure story.

The reports of investigators at the People's United Bank up there in Burlington may also keep her busy. If that is accurate, they will want to talk to her as her signature is all over those loan documents.
