2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCan we knock it off with the DMX song stuff? Good Grief!
No disrespect, but.....
Does anybody believe that if that song was even played at his rally, that he actually chose it himself?
Have you heard DMX rap? Half the time I have no clue what he just said, gotta listen over and over.
And if, this is a big ass if, IF Bernie chose it himself, is he so immersed in hip hop culture that he would understand the vernacular used by the artist DMX?
Do we really think he was sitting there in his 'Beats by Dre' headphones looking for some homophobic lyrics to get the crowd juiced up at the rally?
My opinion is this... If it was played he had no hand in it so lets just move the fuck on. This is stupid.
Also, it probably was just an overzealous fan who themselves had not listened to the lyrics, but thought it would be cool and funny to have Bernie walking to a bumping rap beat. I think we need to stop this drama. It's dumb.
I did not want to write this but I am studiously ignoring the 'homophobicsongthreads', and would rather chit chat with y'all about stuff we care about. Which is not this, imo.

But it's STOOPID! Why? Do we have to do this to death?

(6,592 posts)As far as I've currently been able to make out, some rap fan overlaid it on the video and some-media-or-other ran with it. But you're right even if it really happened, and thanks again.

(6,592 posts)I listened to the song by itself (somebody had posted them side by side) and I understood the (stupid) words fine. Of course, I had been given a heads-up as to the content, so who knows....

(34,648 posts)I only checked cause I saw it in the video forum, and decided to stfu for once.

(13,718 posts)Either he's a Sanders supporter, like he says, or he's a Hillary supporter pretending to be a Sanders supporter. Since it would be really stupid for a Sanders supporter to do that, and stupider yet to admit to it after doing it, I'd bet 10-1 on the latter.
bravenak
(34,648 posts)He made one damn mistake and did not know the words were in the song. The song is thirteen years old! He was damn near a baby when it came out. He just wanted to make something cool for his twitter buddies. People HERE posted it that same night and deleted it when they realized what the song said. A mistake from a new voter who was very excited about Bernie. Not a conspiracy.

(1,151 posts)I had no idea what he was saying lyrically. Honestly for a lot of hip hop and rap the lyrics are secondary to the beat, or they're just there to showcase the rapper's technical proficiency at spitting verses. (similar to how Dream Theater uses like twice as many riffs as they actually need).
bravenak
(34,648 posts)I had no idea what it said until I checked the lyrics, the other day.

(25,111 posts)some of the beat is cool. That said, whomever chose that song, well it was not appropriate.

(34,648 posts)Devine never wins. I think the next time the left wants to have a go at the Whitehouse with a similar agenda, it has to be planned a couple of years in advance at least. Reach out to all of our demographics and build a force from the ground up. Might need establishment assistance so I think the fight should be against the right not the far left against the left left.
Fucking Trump makes me ill insude. I'd take anybody over him. Anybody.

(1,237 posts)To start rioting which lead to chairs being thrown at the stage and multiple injuries? There was also a video blackout orchestrated by the rioters , which explains why there's no video of the violence in this day and age. Luckily some guy tweeted what he heard happen though, so I'm sure there will be charges against those involved! Has he apologized for inciting the riot yet?
Expect a whole lot more of this stuff, it's coming from the top and her supporters and the msm are eating it up.

(45,319 posts)Bernie played hateful music. The lies just march on and on and those who have done this are toxic. It is despicable to misuse good people and exploit minority groups for your candidate's advantage.
This shit weakens Hillary and I pray to God she is not our nominee because years of lies like this would be a nightmare. Too similar to Trump and his cohort, this baiting and exploiting crap.

(45,319 posts)lies. Try to grasp that I don't believe anything said by those who nodded along with the Reagan shit, who repeated the obvious lies about the photos, who claimed chairs and bottles were thrown. The very idea that persons who have told all of those fictions think they and explain their latest exposure away by rattling off more narrative is absurd.
All trust is gone. The Clinton cohort has shown itself repeatedly willing to create and repeat lies about Bernie Sanders. I listed them.
