Sanders Candidacy Devolving into an Arrogant Insufferable Self-serving Disaster

Sanders Candidacy Devolving into an Arrogant Insufferable Self-serving Disaster
Peter D. Rosenstein non-profit consultant, public speaker and political activist

Many including me have consistently given Bernie Sanders the credit for fighting for what he believes in and suggesting he should decide on his own when to leave the race. We gave him credit for beginning his campaign with grace and purpose as I did in a recent column. Unfortunately he is choosing to end it as a boor more concerned with boosting his own ego than with moving forward the issues he espoused.

Bernie if Donald Trump wins and gets to appoint a Supreme Court Justice and negates all the progress Barack Obama has fought for in the past eight years, you become the 2016 Ralph Nader. The same Nader who now at age 84 walks around Dupont Circle in Washington, DC with his head down afraid people will recognize him and say “Thanks Ralph for electing George W. Bush.” You don’t want to be that person in a couple of years with people saying ‘Thanks Bernie for electing Donald Trump. “

is breeding ground for ignorance. That is why you get all these false accusations and conspiracies from both trump and Sanders followers. They discredit any information that goes against their perceptions as being establishment or corrupt, even if they originate from progressives. In fact, I would bet most of these conspiracies and ideas populist from both side cling to come from conservative groups trying to shift the focus from social issues where progressives have been winning and united on to economic ideals which cause a deep divide among progressives, not because we disagree on the premise of economic equality but rather because we disagree on how to implement them.

It's a crazy idea to try to steal the nomination from the person who has won the primaries, but it's even crazier to say that he should still be handed the ultimate middle finger to democracy, when he wouldn't have even reached the standards he set for himself. He would have lost the pledged delegates, the popular vote, the most states, the diverse states, the biggest states, and the swing states.

Anyone who can look at that record and still think it's fair to take what he didn't earn is a disgrace to the Democratic party.

If you are saying she has to reach 2383, then you are counting supers. Otherwise the number of pleged delegates to have a majority of PLEDGED delegates is LOWER. If she has to reach the majority of ALL DELEGATES, then we must include her supers. None of them are switching to bernie. Not after all that harassment!

That the frontrunner has to cheat and screw around with the machinations, and her cronies fuck up every standard possible for a Democratic primary. Mainstream Media complicit on focusing on the 1%, which means the top two candidates are oligarchs, and not for the people.

Yep, that's what Democracy means to you, and I'll pass.

To me democratic primary is a clean and open process (which includes fair coverage by the media) which invites unaffiliated members to vote for our candidates, the best possible one that would stand for the principles of the progressives.

I didn't see a clean democratic primaries this year.

No one was cheated, Sanders is just a crap candidate, especially when it comes to winning actual Democrats (and non-whites). In the DEMOCRATIC primary, Democrats pick the nominee and that is perfectly fair. Sanders should have started his own party and appointed himself as the nominee of that party.
