Romney General Election Vulnerabilities Laid Bare in GOP Debate

From the Daily Beast..

The only person who mattered at Monday night’s debate in Myrtle Beach, S.C.—the only candidate whose performance is even worth evaluating—was Mitt Romney.

The reason is simple: the Republican nominating contest has ceased to be a contest at all and has instead become a perfunctory Hell Week hazing ritual for a guy who’s already on a glide path to the nomination.
-snip-

His performance should worry conservatives. As usual, Romney was crisp and composed when answering the predictable questions about economic and foreign policy and reciting snippets of his stump speech. But he exposed a few real soft spots over the course of the 90-minute show.

=============

The more Romney talks, the more vulnerabilities are exposed. This is likely to get worse as the real campaign heats up and more pressure is put on him to explain his positions.

without enthusiastic volunteers. And one thing Mitt does not do is enthusiasm. He can't risk having too many 'paid volunteers' or Mormons, so what's he left with - certainly not FReepers nor the Tea Party.

There's a limit to whatever fear campaign Rove can put up. A God Damn America Kenyan Muslim Weatherman won't cut it this time.
