Sanders Rally Moved to L.A. Coliseum (Hillary camp had NOthing to do with the move, instead

Last edited Sat Jun 4, 2016, 12:22 PM - Edit history (1)

it is the Sanders camp who did not know the rules--and moved voluntarily.--so no outrage is necessary!!

This obsessive need to blame everything on Hillary here in DU_P is disgusting!

Greek Sanders Rally Moved to L.A. Coliseum

GRIFFITH PARK–A last minute concert and “Get Out the Vote” rally planned by campaign aides 24 hours ago for 2016 presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was moved from the Greek Theater this afternoon to a plaza area at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

According to Estevan Montemayor, spokesperson for Los Angeles City Councilmember David Ryu, the Sanders campaign was not able to finalize logistics for the last minute event, including traffic mitigations and a way to get around the city-run Greek Theater’s policy that all events must be ticketed. The Sanders event is a free concert and rally, open to the public. Online reservations are encouraged only.

“We did offer [the Sanders campaign] a few solutions,” Montemayor said, “but ultimately they decided to move the event to the Coliseum.”

Large public events, such as the Sanders event or a street festival, for example, are organized and paid for by the event planner.............

The Greek is a bad choice for a Sanders rally, and for that matter Hillary has tickets available Bluenorthwest Jun 2016 #7

They have to keep up appearances.

is the limited number of seats and parking space. There's simply no room there for overflow crowds, so tickets have to be limited to the capacity of the venue.

I've been there several times for different events. It's a charming venue, but limited in its capacity. Without firm ticket sales, it would be easy for the area to be overwhelmed, and it's surrounded by native vegetation that can't stand trampling.

The move was a good idea.

that it was apparently started by the Sanders campaign via email. Did they think no one would notice or are they embracing the "lie will travel half way around the world while the truth is putting it's shoes on" theory?

which I think would have sold in an easier to attend venue. It's just 5,800 people but the hassle of entrance and exit is the same for those in not so great cheap seats as it is for the better seats so you have to be extremely motivated to pay $45 bucks for traffic hell to get to a long climb to a bench seat far from the stage and a hike back to the car that takes an hour to get off the hill and away from event traffic.
It's adorable and famous but not really a workable venue for many things.
