I am in deep blue Illinois, but in the red, red, red area of Southern Illinois. I know someone who despises Romney but would never vote for Obama(she says giving no reason....but knowing her.....I'm guessing the idea that "in her time, you didn't even have to ride on the bus with THOSE people.) She told us she is voting for Gary Johnson and has been putting up Gary Johnson stuff all over Facebook. I sure won't be telling her she is wasting her vote! In fact, am I wrong for this, I've kind of been saying "oh, well, he does have good ideas on this and this." She does know I support Obama....but seems to think I can be swayed to Johnson I cannot switch her to an Obama vote, but let her vote for Johnson if that is her choice.

I know a lot of liberals and progressives here in Texas who are going to vote for Jill Stein for the same reason the person you know is voting for Gary Johnson. (They do say they would vote for President Obama if they were in a swing state.)

There was some talk that Johnson would drain off votes for Obama, but anytime a vote is taken out of Romney's column and placed in Johnson's it has pretty much the same effect as a vote for Obama. Back in 1992 I convinced my now ex-husband to vote his conscience
and cast his ballot for Perot ...

If Romney loses a vote to Obama, that is a net swing of 2 votes for Obama. (Obama +1, Romney -1)

If Romney loses a vote to Johnson, that is a net swing of 1 vote for Obama. (Obama +/-0, Romney -1)

Hubby played freshman BB at UNC...he was in Dean Smith's first recruited class. Unfortunately he liked playing BB better than studying so that didn't work out quite as well as he'd hoped.

Love UNC...Tarheel born, bred, etc.

as Johnson won't gain any EC support I think it may be more than half, but less than one. In any case...half a loaf is better than none...
