...Karl Rove and one of the Fox guys (Hume, I think) were standing in front of a huge map of the country which had the states that had already been called in red or blue, with states still up for grabs in grey. Rove was saying that, at this point, he could not see a path to victory for McCain without Ohio, and as he was saying it, Ohio turned blue. Fox had called it for Obama. Rove and Hume didn't say anything for quite a long time - they weren't officially calling the election at that point, but they knew. It was awesome to see them so miserable. I refuse to feel bad for enjoying Karl Rove's misery.

Crossing the fingers and toes.

than watch a bunch of talking heads blathering on abut their beltway conventional wisdom. That includes MSNBC.

I have other activities planned Tuesday night. I'll be home by about 9:30 and I'll see if any of the key states are decided by then.

I fully expect that Florida and Ohio will be full of corruption as usual. But if VA comes through and we hold the other ones we expect in the midwest (PA, MI, WI, IA) it will be a victory. And I still expect an upset in NC, which would be a bonus.

The key will be VA. If VA is called early for Obama, then we'll be in good shape. There is absolutely nothing worthwhile to watch on teevee until the VA votes are about 80% counted.

Once they call the election for Obama I will switch to Fox and watch Dickhead Morris try to explain away his prediction of a Romeny landslide.

Oh, and when they calll Ohio for Obama I will switch over for a minute or two to fox as well.

I watched CSPAN last time.. it was much less dramatic and I didn't have to hear or watch the asshat pundits.

Twitter is great because you can get the data without the pundits. I think last year I sort of monitored it, then turned on the broadcast TV when it was announced so that I could scream and dance and cry!!! every time I hear "It's a Beautiful Day" by U2, I think of that moment.

I cannot watch more than a minute or two of Fox News. Too much flashy propaganda gives me GERD.

I think they do a great job, esp. Michael Beschloss, their presidential historian. He's smart, super-cool, plus he has a smooth effective way of speaking. Easy on the eyes, too.

And of course, I'll have DU.
