I'm going to do something I have never done

This is not my first election, I've voted since 1992. So I am kinda shocked I am doing this.

Since I already voted I'm not really busy on tuesday nov 6. I also know that tuesday is going to go by very slow. I don't work but that is not because I can't find work. I can, I just usually end up helping non profit groups instead. I am very lucky that my husband makes enough money that allows me to be able to do this.

But anyway, the other day I was stunned to see an Obama Office in Casselberry Fl. So one a whim just now I wanted to make sure I wasn't seeing things and checked on the Obama site to see if there really was one and yes there was. So I dialed the phone number and asked if they need help.

I have no idea what I just stepped into but I don't care. When I saw those people in south FL begging "Let us Vote," the lines in Ohio, the lies being told, the hate being spewed and all this mess we call an election happen I just can't sit by and do nothing. So I have no idea how I can help but I am going to go out and try.

So on election day I will doing what ever the people in the Obama Office in Casselberry want me to do to help make sure he gets re-elected.

I am working the polls as a precinct worker tomorrow (Ortonville - about 20mi from Flint).
I've been doing it for over a decade and I feel more proud about it now than ever!
I consider myself an independent, but I'll be damned if I ever vote for a republicrat ever again.
I don't care where the ideas come from as long as they are good ones and they pass the middle class test.
I just will never vote for a republican, no matter how good the ideas they come up with are. They have proven themselves untrustworthy and not interested in the good of the majority of the people.

I remember well my first visit at a campaign office and my offer to help. It is kind of scary to take that step but very rewarding! Some of the finest people I have ever known, I met through politics.

None of the great political adventures I've had would have taken place if I had not done exactly what you are doing now.

Enjoy the excitement and the sense of satisfaction!

It will make our great victories all the more special tomorrow night. :

It does indeed! Every time I've put my yard sign out, every time I've talked up our President to wavering people, every time I fact-check somebody, remind them that the whole "both sides" bullshit is just that - BULLSHIT - it does indeed feel GOOD!!!

We ALL have a role to play in this campaign! LET'S WIN THIS THING!!! AND DON'T GET COMPLACENT!!!!

I'm going to go to the Obama office tonight right after dinner. They are open until 9pm. This way I can see where they need the most help. I don't care how small or big the job, if it gets more people to the polls I am there.

Let's get this done!

I am so sick of hearing that the rmoney people have more enthusiasm. I call their BS. I am more excited about Obama this year then I was in the last election. And I was pretty excited in 04.

So go vote and if you have voted go help others get to the polls

while I poll-watch in a majority-african american precinct in the Tampa Bay area. I may have my work cut out for me and I'll need lots of patience if there are any True-the-Vote'ers present. My blood was boiling when I got home from sign-waving at an early voting site this Thurs/Fri/Sat.

I hope your story inspires more people to do the same!

And I signed up for any time anything - I'm free all day told them to use me. I'll be there in the morning right around 9am unless they call and say show up earlier.

I was kinda shocked that many people were coming in as I was leaving. I mean its dark, its kinda late, the area the head quarters is the road (sr 436) has construction and Seminole County is a red county. At least 10 more people came in as I was leaving.

Any way I am jazzed! Thank you to everyone that has put this together! Obama's ground game is organized!! The people that organized his headquarters all over the country deserve way more credit and thanks then they know! They make it easy for people like me to help!

I want to see Seminole County FL go Blue!!

I have been canvassing since 9am. So I am talking a lunch break. I'll be going back to the Obama Office in about an hour.

I'm glad I did this. I have all this normal nervous energy and well walking around canvassing and talking to people is so much better then sitting at home yelling at the tv while I wait for the election results to come in.

I think I will do this again for the next election
