I hope that we are getting ready for a Trump replacement.

Now that they know they will be up against Hillary their best bet would be to bring in a female, 1st generation, and part of a large minority population. Also they have a chance of being the 1st female POTUS.

That is why I think it will be Gov Nikki Haley.

Do you somehow think that Trump was trying to throw the election all along and just underestimated how much Republican voters would like his racism? He wanted this as the ultimate ego trip, and his thug supporters would riot if he got replaced at the convention. That's not hyperbole, they'd respond with physical violence and probably gunfire.

If not for the likelihood that people would get murdered in the process, I'd be fine with the Republican Party tearing itself to pieces like that. But the RNC isn't quite that stupid.

An establishment sponsored candidate bumps the anti-establishment guy who won the nomination fair and square, notwithstanding by being a boorish racist asshole. And how about the standing of Ted Cruz who came in second? His supporters would certainly push for him. If Trump did drop out there would be a huge vacuum effect with mad scrambling, dividing the party even further. I guess I don't see it happening, but I could be wrong.

But, at some point these campaigns become serious....and I just don't think Trump can hang when that happens.

I really have no idea, but I have been suspicious of him all along.....why he would really want this job.

He is their presumptive nominee. Any second preparing for Haley would be a wasted second.

I'm not saying it won't happen. I'm simply saying it would be a waste of time at this point.

They know if they toss him, they lose the Tea Party voters and then those Tea Party voters will contest those in leadership that had Trump ousted.

There are too many GOP jobs on the line for them to make that bold a move.

Also, they could be hoping for the indictment fairy too... but they really don't have the option of replacing him unless he gets CIA'd.

The old guard GOP desperately wants to get rid of Trump by hook or by crook. They may play some games with the rules at the convention that will allow them to bring in someone else. However, if they do that there will be riots and who knows what Trump may do.

It would look terrible for them to get rid of him, if their rules allowed it. As it is, Trump is way behind money wise. Repub donors don't want to give him their money.
