Building a New Majority - Starting Today

Like it or not, this weird country we live in is based on majority rule, moderated by a 200+ year old document written by the original founders of it. In order to shift the political realities in our nation, a majority of voting citizens is the essential requirement. We live, and sometimes die, based on who gets elected to office.

Due to that majority rule, our government is led by a coalition of people who manage to get the majority of voters to choose them in our frequent elections. Through election, they become the "establishment," and run things based on a long series of compromises. That is not going to change.

What can change is the makeup of that establishment. But, to do that, a new majority of voters is needed. We may have seen the beginnings of that in the Democratic primaries of 2016. As yet, though, it does not exist. It is a developing, fetal majority that is yet to emerge and become self-sufficient.

Let's give that majority a chance to grow and thrive. Let's not let it be stillborn. Let's feed it and nourish it and encourage it to prosper. We can do that, if we have the will to and if the newborn organism flourishes. 2016 may well be the beginning of a new majority in this country. I hope so.

I'll do what I can to help it live to maturity. You can, too. Please vote whenever you have a chance. That'll do it.

One of my favorite quotes attributed to Thomas Jefferson, but never found in his works.
