Surprising Alligator tears at FR over Santorum wins

With DU slow to load went to FR to see if they were uncorking champagne bottles tonight.

Surprised to find that they are gnashing their teeth over the Santorum win:

God save the republic. I don’t know what is wrong with the people who vote for Little Ricky. I can understand the Romney voters. They are either moderate republicans or are buying the, only Mitt can win, story. But Santorum is a loser of the highest degree. Prior to his three nothing wins in MN, CO, MO he was a well justified after thought. Now we have 30+% of evidently brain dead conservative voting for him in every state. A far right extremely arrogant SoCon who is a moderate establishment republican on everything else. A Democratic wet dream. They are probably popping champagne bottles every time this twit wins. I hope Newt stays in just to keep Santorum from gaining anymore ground. At this point we better be praying for a brokered convention.

Why yes redangus we are popping champagne.

But he and palin are the frothy by-product of all the things Republicans have declared war on. Intellectualism, schools, etc..

So it shouldn't be a real surprise to them.

(Jack handy moment - everything except for god guns and flags. I wonder what happens when all the smart people have left and no one can make guns or flags anymore. Probably just wave animal skins.)

2. Of course they're sad. Daddy JimBob endorsed Newt on their site.

...And one thing Freepers LOVE to do is agree in total lockstep with Daddy JimBob. I read many posts there this past weekend that stated "Newt wins both states on Tuesday. Bank on it".

but they were allowed to go Newt or Froth?

I didn't even think to look over there. Figured they would have been walking on clouds.

4. I don't think they want to say "wet dream" and "Santorum" in the same sentence too often.

But, I could be wrong.

I thought they were behind Santorum now this. I figured they were anti-Newt because of all his baggage. I know they're anti-Romney because of who he is...it's too late for Christie or Palin to come in and be the hail mary unless as a Veep choice---and Game Change hurt Palin a bit. Ron Paul is they're version of our Kucinich. I'm just not sure who they stand by. Cause they seem to be 'gnashing' they're teeth over any one.

8. Gingrich and Santorum both have significant support there

roughly split between the "we want a white southerner to beat that uppity black man" and "God will guide us to being a biblical theocracy before the Rapture" factions. Open support for Romney or Paul is enough to get them banned, but there are a few who were intelligent enough to switch to saying "we want someone who can beat Obama" or "a brokered convention" before they could be kicked out.

The Gingrich and Santorum factions don't like each other much, and there's plenty of accusations that the other will lose the election for them, sometimes extending into active hate.

Baggage doesn't matter on FR. They went from hatred of Bush in 2000 to love, once he got the nomination; and the same for McCain (though more begrudging, and largely because he picked Palin) in 2008. And considerations of whether Gingrich's baggage might make him unelectable matter even less - they will ignore reality whenever it feels good to them.
