Operation Rescue president Troy Newman endorses Ron Paul for president
Troy Newman, president of the high-profile anti-abortion group Operation Rescue, has endorsed Ron Paul as his choice for president.
Newman announced his endorsement Thursday, just days before the Kansas caucuses on March 10, The Associated Press reported. His organization is headquartered in headquartered in Wichita, one of the stops on Ron Paul’s Kansas campaign trail.
Paul, an obstetrics and gynecology doctor who has delivered many babies, is strictly pro-life and has said the constitutional liberties of the unborn are just as important to protect. Newman, who emphasized he is not a single issue voter, said he believes the Texas congressman will fight to abolish abortion while also securing the blessings of liberty for Americans of all ages.
“In order to enjoy our God-given right to life it, must be secured by the foundations of liberty and a sound monetary policy,” said Newman in a recorded message. “The only proven candidate who understands and defends the U.S. constitution is Congressman Ron Paul.”
