Did McCain staffer nearly knock over Kelli Ward's mom?
Tensions are rising between Republican U.S. Senate challenger Kelli Ward and incumbent Sen. John McCain's campaign trackers and volunteers.
A month ago, Michael Ward, the candidate's husband, was captured on video calling McCain's southern Arizona field director an expletive and intentionally blocking the view of his smartphone camera.
A few days ago, Ward accused a McCain aide of nearly knocking down her mother, leading a source close to McCain to highlight another video showing Ward getting into the face of a tracker and blocking his phone camera with her body and her microphone.
"The McCain campaign must be extremely worried about our amazing support to be devoting so much staff attention to following me around, especially to send over two dozen interns to disrupt my event," Ward said in a written statement to The Arizona Republic. "I appreciate the free media opportunities they are giving me to share my positive message about being a conservative champion for Arizona's future who will finally Mix the Mortar to Fix the Border."
