Will Obama be first 8th year president to campaign a lot for his possible successor?

Some presidents never started an eighth year in office.

FDR was in office more than 8 years.

President Eisenhower didn't campaign a lot for Nixon due to health reasons. Likewise with President Reagan and George H. W. Bush.

President Bill Clinton didn't campaign a lot for Al Gore because Gore didn't want him to. Similarly with George W. Bush not campaigning much for John McCain.
