Absolutely outrageous presser by Comey

Matthew Miller ‏@matthewamiller 1h (
Absolutely outrageous presser by Comey. DOJ/FBI is supposed to speak in court. If it won't make statements in court, it shouldn't make them.

Once again, Clinton gets worse treatment than anyone else would. I can't remember an FBI press conference like that when charges declined.

Matthew Miller ‏@matthewamiller 1h1 hour ago
Comey's statement appears to violate DOJ rules for comments about ongoing matters. https://www.justice.gov/usam/usam-1-7000-media-relations#1-7.530

Comey says "it is possible" Clinton's email was hacked. Since when does the FBI publicly speculate about things it doesn't know/can't prove?

Miller is a former DOJ spox, and will be on @allinwithchris tonight.

James feels entitled to scold the former SOS in public purely because she's a woman.

It should have been limited to:

In looking back at our investigations into mishandling or removal of classified information, we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts.

Full Stop.

The rest of this is just rabble rousing. And clearly, it is working. The rabble has been 'roused.

Then Obama could have replaced him any time in the past 3 years, or declined to appoint him to begin with. Everything I've read about Comey says he is well-respected because he doesn't let politics influence his decisions.

And as a result we had a 4 year, $17 million dollar investigation about a blow job.

The OP is exactly correct - it is HIGHLY suspect that the FBI comments like this. Thanks for your concern and defense of that asshole's statement. But it's called bullshit politics where I live.

And again, he was appointed by President Obama. Do you think the president didn't know what he was doing and should have declined to appoint Comey?
