Let's call it the Trudeau effect: formerly very conservative parties tacking to the left

so their movement is not completely erased after an election like the Conservatives in Canada were. Conservatives in Canada have almost completely done away with old wedge issues. Why? Canadians felt nothing but relief in the first 6 months of Trudeau's government. His popularity actually has gone up the more liberal governing he does. It also happened in California.

Is this a sign it is happening in the USA?
