Republicans have been manipulating us based on fear for decades- and it became particularly evident after 9/11. It's at the root of everything on that side of the aisle. Make people terrified- of crime, of the scary "other", of terrorist attacks, of lgbt people corrupting your kids. Mostly, fear of change.

Not saying they'll cause a specific event- they may not have to. Will they try and politicize everything and increase divisions and tensions as much as possible? Damn straight.
