when you have a VP who is more ideologically and temperamentally unacceptable to the opposition party than the president, that president is somewhat insulated.

This was oft-said when Nixon chose chose Spiro Agnew. Agnew was a criminal, who resigned before Nixon, but the odds of Nixon's impeachment and conviction were far higher with Ford in as Agnew's replacement (when it was a sure thing) than had Agnew survived.

As much as many in the GOP hate Hillary, they'd probably be even less happy with a President Warren.

Works for me.

Hillary can win with a good, progressive, enthusiastic turnout. She may not get 50%+ of the vote but she will win. She can say Warren will study free trade and the financial world to make sure they benefit the middle class. That will garner the rust belt to Clinton.

Hillary could pick any number of running mates. Myself, I'd like her to pick one out of left field, one nobody expects.

Elizabeth Warren has Teddy Kennedy's former US Senate seat. However, she was preceded in that seat by a Republican. And the current MA governor is also a Republican.

There are many of us her who rather like Elizabeth Warren as a US Senator and would prefer that she not give up her power in the Senate to become a running mate.

If Hillary is impeached, she will need Elizabeth Warren in the Senate.

Drops mic.

If it's not polling concern it is impeachment concern. Just give it a rest.

When Hillary wins in a landslide the last thing on the republican's mind will be impeachment.

It will be winning back the Senate which we are about to take.

I am NOT comparing Clinton to Nixon, and I'm especially not comparing Warren to Agnew. But I don't think that's how she should be selecting her VP.
