Did anyone feel sorry for Barron Trump tonight?

I always feel for the minor children of Presidential candidates. However, my heart broke for him tonight. He looked so lonely and miserable even with confetti and balloons falling around him. And I didn't see one adult, neither of his parents, or adult siblings even give him a sideways look to notice his discomfort. You would think one of his parent, or siblings, who have children of their own, could have put their arms around him and tried to at least get him into the moment. But no, that child stood there looking like the poorest little rich boy in the world. Why, did they even trot him out there?

Hopefully that doesn't come off as offensive.

If that's not the case, then there is Something VERY, VERY wrong with the situation. He didn't crack a smile once. And pulled away when his father grabbed him.

Jul 2016

Then it was pure cruelty to put him in that situation....and no there is nothing wrong with your speculation. If such is the fact, they didn't need to bring him on stage. When asked by the media about his absence, his parents could have just said they didn't feel it was fair to put their young child in that situation. Donald Jr. has five children, the oldest is only a year younger than Barron, perhaps if they had been out there as well it would've played as a happier family scene, or at least diffused the situation.

Jul 2016

Roughly 15 years ago, scientists found a strong correlation between advanced maternal age and autism. A few years later they found the same for older fathers.

This doesn't mean he's autistic, nor does it mean he's on the spectrum. But he was/is at higher risk, even if it is not diagnosed yet because he's high functioning.

My 2 cents.

But I think he takes after his dad and his siblings, certainly a
child of privilege.

I grew up in the same area from a little kid to an adult, and there is one thing
that always happened, the mean nasty little kids I knew , grow into mean nasty adolescents,
and some turn into quite dangerous nasty adults.

They all seem to have utter contempt for people around them.

Like that kid actor from a few years back, at 11 he was in a major motion picture,
then there was footage of him at premiers with such a smug look on his face, looking
down at the interviewer, as a teenager there was apparently a few incidents of him
treating the female interns badly in the movies he was in.

Then as a adult actor, he finally got fired from a major movie and took it out on
his girlfriend.

Point being, if Trump's kid is a mean little kid who looks down on people, he will
grow into a mean adult.

The horse has bolted.

felt sorry for him. As far as the late hour, it's summer, thus not a school night. At his age, I was more than capable of staying up late and not being grumpy about it. And yeah, I feel bad for kids who have crappy rich turds for parents, who are raising them to likewise being crappy turds. I hate seeing any child being subject to having a wasted life simply because of the circumstances they were born into.

He went to our church, and his kid was in religious education classes with me. Turns out he was a nice, low key, somewhat shy but very pleasant guy.

All the other kids were always pressing him about his dad, wanting to know what it was like living the good life. I always felt bad for him, as if he was some sort of cool novelty instead of a person. I made it a point to treat him like any other person, and I got the feeling he appreciated it from me and some of the others kids who ignored his celebrity upbringing.

Meanwhile, he talked about how his father and mother were arguing all the time (they eventually divorced). He didn't use their names, he just called them "mom" and "dad". But I know it had to be rough because I think him baring these problems might come off sound like bragging, and yet I genuinely felt he wasn't doing that at all. He only wanted to confide in his problems. So I offered him advice as much as I could to anyone. I only hope other people would have done the same.

He lived a good life no doubt, but there was no need to judge him for who his father was.

Mom and dad to the left in the pic, with Trump ensconced in a gilt chair and Melania standing behind him, striking a weird pose with her dress looking as if is was held in place by invisible wires. Barron was all the way on the other side of the room, sitting on what looked, at first glance, like a rocking horse, but was a rocking lion.

I'll bet someone here, with better tech skills than mine, can find the photo I am describing.

His adult half-siblings have all passed the point of no-return. (Well, maybe there's a slight chance Tiffany will eventually turn since she's literally been treated like a bastard, but she was apparently willing to vouch for her old man at the convention so not yet.)

But Barron has lived in this bubble with this sociopath of a father and a shallow opulence obsessed mother. The cards are stacked against him that he won't escape the bubble and he'll grow up a carbon copy of his dad, much like his older half-brothers. There's the ever possible chance he might go Ron Reagan, develop a conscience and a mindset of his own, and I can only hope that for him. But it doesn't look good.

He's like some classically tragic figure from literature, the prince of a mad king, all alone.

He's rich and pampered, but he's being denied a childhood.

He's dressed (allegedly voluntarily) as Alex P. Keaton with the suit and tie when most boys are wearing jeans and a T and sneakers.

I'm sure he's marginalized by Ivanka's children and barely tolerated by them.

And how many kids is he going to bring home to play if their parents have to sign a non-disclosure contract?

One of my family members picked up on the fact that Trump's three older kids did not seem to have any affection toward Melania. I responded, maybe the older kids do not like her. The family member later said "see, they do not show her any affection.". To that I responded, maybe the family is not as close as Trump would like people to think. I am not sure Trump has the loving family he tries to promote. What was seen last night might be proof that Trump's former ghost writer is telling the truth about the fact that Trump is not a family man.
