Mr. Trump’s call was an extraordinary moment at a time when Russia is being accused of meddling in the U.S. presidential election. Later in the news conference, when asked if he was really urging a foreign nation to hack into the email server of Mrs. Clinton, or a least meddle in the nation’s elections, he dismissed the question. “That’s up to the president,” Mr. Trump said, before finally telling the female questioner to “be quiet — let the president talk to them.”

1. I applaud Trump for making this idiotic statement

This press conference was an obvious attempt to steal the news cycle from the DNC convention. Problem is that Trump can't keep his mouth shut.
He stole the show alright.
His outrageously stupid comments today will give the speech writers for Biden and Obama some great additional comments in their speeches to the country tonight in PRIME time.
So to Trump I say, great job, keep up the good work. Show America the real thoughts rolling around your pea brain.
I fully expect President Obama, VP Biden, and VP candidate Kaine to tear him a new one tonight at the convention.
