One bit of bad news from WI--GOP took back the State Senate last night

While we delivered WI for Obama and Baldwin, our state government under Gov Walker and a GOP House/Senate will be repressive.
In the Recall we won control (narrowly by one-vote) of the WI State Senate, but now the GOP has recaptured the Senate:

Wisconsin Republicans have retaken full control of state government after claiming majorities in both the state Senate and Assembly.

Results from Tuesday's elections show that the GOP captured an open Senate seat and fended off challengers to four incumbents, giving Republicans a narrow majority in the Senate. Republicans easily maintained their majority in the Assembly.

With Republican Gov. Scott Walker in office, the party once again has full run of state government. And the ramifications are huge. With Democrats on the sidelines, Republicans will be able to pass any proposal without help from Democrats.

Republicans gained control of the governor's office, the Senate and the Assembly in 2010. Democrats had won a narrow Senate majority in June's recall elections, but Tuesday's election erased that edge.

over the past 10 years, or so, many right wingers have moved up there as the old dairy farms were sold off and the righties could buy lot of land cheaper than other places.
Once located up there they would got involved, politically and set up their beloved survival/retreat camps away from prying eyes on large tracts of land
Something akin to what they've done in rural parts of the NW part of the U.S.

Clark Co. is between Eau Claire & Wausau, traditional diary country settled by Poles, Germans & Russians.

Taylor County, just to the north of Clark, is largely Federal forest land & also Posse country. By way of irony, the Taylor County Seat is Medford, home of the Tombstone Tap tavern that originated the Tombstone Pizza.
