(28,811 posts)yep, that's it in a NUTshell.
if he could be run off the airwaves somehow it would go quite a ways in healing the nation imo.
but Rush serves the purpose of giving voice to an ignorant segment of our society. It's important to remember they are there. Rush won't let us forget. Kinda like the old rule 'know thine enemy'.
barbtries
(28,811 posts)because his listeners are more a reflection of him than vice versa. he makes that ignorant segment.

(29,225 posts)and I don't hear the Catholics or evangelicals screaming about covering this for unmarried males.

(51,012 posts)because he knows the name of a woman. He thinks we didn't hear how much he fears women having a voice and hates the idea of it.
But we did hear it.

But let's give credit: Rush DID have a hand in rallying the Democratic base and helping us to win this election. Maybe we should all send him a card and tell him that.
(I think if we did, he'd pop like a balloon. Hmmmm. I like this idea.)

(1,060 posts)Keep Rush on the air. He has done more for the Democrats than Clinton. When he calls a young woman a slut it fires not only our base , but every woman in this country. Think about those possibilities in 2014. IMO keep going Rush ---we love ya.

(7,010 posts)I worked in radio and it sickens me how much this guy makes even though he's lost so many advertisers.
It must kill Clear Channel to give him those quarterly bonus checks now, considering how many advertisers he lost. His ratings are still impressive, but the ad money thanks to Color Of Change has dwindled!

(452 posts)I pray every night that he continues to broadcast, because he is the BEST thing to ever happen to the Democratic Party in recent years. The MSM can show the rest of the country what a wackjob he is.
I also salute Glenn Beck and Mark Levin. Thanks, fuckers! You probably sent the moderate vote to the Democrats for the foreseeable future!

(103 posts)So their underlying premise is morality, the sanctity of sex and reproduction, etc.
Let's see who among single, unattached women would really benefit economically from covering prescription birth control pills?
Promiscuous woman, those scourge liberal types that will screw anything with two legs... has sex every night. Cost on condoms = $2 per copulation. Cost on birth control pill, at say $50 per pack (uninsured), which is about $2 per pill. At 1/day, the cost is about the same.
Now here is good upstanding moral Christian. She only hooks up once in a while, for example after some clean cut, conservative, responsible type who will still be there the next morning comes along. Let's say that happens about once a month. Cost of condoms still about $2 per "event". Failure rate for condoms, anywhere from 12% for Mr.-it's-been-so-long-I-forgot-how-to-put-it-on, down to 2% when that confounded latex just up and breaks. Cost of a monthly birth control pill regimen: still $50. That's a lot of money to spend. I mean, honestly, how many guys like a woman to split the cost of the date simply because dinner and a movie is now $50 even for a so-so restaurant. Think of this woman? At least the dinner and the movie lasted a couple of hours. She is out $50 bucks for 15-20 minutes that, like the movie, may or may not have a satisfying ending!
What's the matter Rush, never hear of unit cost? These guys have about a much sense on reproductive economics as a dog sniffing around another dog's tail.

Yeah, Rush, might as well blame your own damn self!

(5,611 posts)Dirty, frustrated old man. It's all he can think about -- he is obsessed with young women and their lady parts. Why is he SOOOOOO concerned about birth control pills? After all, his insurance pays for his damn Viagra, and for all the "lifestyle choice" babies being born -- far more expensive than birth control pills. Not to mention that bc pills are often used for healthcare purposes, not "just" birth control (which is healthcare of course...)
It is hard to believe he is remotely relevant these days -- he is such a dinosaur, a relic from the 1990s WAY past his expiration date.
