Donald Trump is the Republican Party`s well-deserved boomerang
Many of them seemed stunned. A few seem embarrassed. Some are in hiding and some are preparing responses to their family`s how-could-you-support-him? question. Republicans are in the process of reaping what they`ve sown and they`re all neck-deep in bulls**t....Donald Trump`s most excellent, far superior, best-on-earth, absolutely greatest bulls**t. This unfit-for-office human boomerang came careening back toward Republican Headquarters, out of control and outside the limits. But all Republicans could do is watch helplessly as Trump destroys their party. He has come back to haunt them, using many of their own words and tactics, and they deserve every last excruciating minute of it.
Trump, a prominent leader of the Birther Movement, is the perfect spokesperson for announcing who belongs in the Republican`s country and who does not.... thanks to all their leadership`s footwork. They made it so easy for Trump. The dog whistles were rehearsed, the code words routinely practiced, the lack of personal responsibility fine-tuned, the talking points well-distributed.
Trump is the perfect reflection of what Republicans have done to themselves. He`s like a giant parade balloon, floating above Macy`s for all to see, a mobile, wayward Republican Party advertisement. Way to go, Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan. Too bad that teeny pin in your pocket does you absolutely no good right now. Trump is going to keep right on floating until you all wish you were on one of those loose icebergs global warming had nothing to do with.
I don`t want to hear any more about how some Republican leaders have taken a stand against Trump. With very few exceptions, they have not. A stand against Trump needs to include the withdrawal of support and endorsements. That`s a stand. Saying they`ll still vote for the man who mocks a person with a chronic disability or who insults Gold Star parents or who demeans Mexicans is the moral equivalence of patting a dangerous bully on the back....with a wink and a nod.
The Republican Party deserves Donald Trump and whatever damage he does to them.
