(146,338 posts)Aside from Donald Trump, Jill Stein is the least prepared presidential candidate in this race. The United States of America is different in every way from a town committee. Heck, I have a nephew-in-law who is a town committeeman (Selectman) in New Hampshire. He's not qualified to be President either, although he does a great job of driving that small town's snowplow every winter.

(92,454 posts)this nonsense out, I am convinced actually want a Trump presidency, to somehow rationalize their justification for not voting for Hillary, so they can in their convoluted logic say "I told you so"
These are not very happy people, and in their "spirit of perverseness", will continue to wallow in their unhappiness when Hillary becomes the next President.
Of course the most important thing is to GOTV

(18,402 posts)And for a politician? One individual? One deeply held creed? It's like fundamentalist religious fanatics who cling to their beliefs with such avidity that they can't let go for fear of going to hell.
I've believed in politicians before and truly believed that they had the right set of policies and character, and I've worked really hard for them on the ground and contributed money and time I didn't really have. And they lost. I felt disappointed for ... about five days. And then I did what I have to do in my everyday life: I faced reality and threw my support to the winner. And even grew to like them a bit, despite some reservations in a few areas. (Who's perfect anyway?) And you know what? Two years later I can tell you that I wondered why I had ever gotten so attached to that initial candidate in the first place: I saw their real flaws too, and they stopped looking like a hero.
Never fall in love with a candidate. None of them are all that. They're just people trying to do their best in a complicated world, like the rest of us.
