Fox host reveals how Trump learned to win over fringe conservatives: ‘All he did was watch Fox News’

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld on Monday explained that Donald Trump had won over the conservative base by repeating what he watched on Fox News.

“I think immigration and terror and race and law and order has been the staple of Fox News for 10 years,” Gutfeld told the hosts of Outnumbered. “All he did was watch Fox News.” According to the Fox host, Trump had perfected the art of driving conservative talking points by “boiling it down to phrases that create novelties in the media.”

Fox News co-host Lisa Kennedy Montgomery pointed out that Trump’s sound bite-style policies were so simplistic that he was being forced to walk them back during the general election, creating “vastly different” proposals than he had promised.

“When you start something that simple it is almost impossible to get people to complexify what you have made so simple,” she observed.

He is a con artist and I think this story fits that accusation. He is telling people what they want to hear, makes promises he cannot keep and in the end, he will leave his believers scammed without money.
But I'd make a minor correction. I think he really believes he acquired knowledge by watching Fox News and that TV shows are the source of his wisdom. I think he even said this in an interview once.

Every Morning the blonde du jour, Killme, and the Douche would nod in agreement with Trump's insightful review of last week's news. He prepped the battleground and they were fully compliant.

their technique is to keep it as simplistic as possible in order to effectively reach their target audience.
