From what I gather, CNN commentators are giving this speech a D-

One after another is calling this speech a big nothing with a lot of unconstitutional ideas. General Wesley Clark basically called it a pile of horseshit, but in a polite way of course.

The only ones defending it are Trump surrogates.

And even them you can't count on them to "take the oil" for the benefit of U.S. interests.

Dubya, for instance, handed almost all of it to British, French, and Chinese interests. The British and the French, because they controlled Iraq's oil to begin with (until it was nationalized in 1972); and the Chinese because, after all, they financed Operation Iraqi Liberation (O.I.L.).

The same, by the way, happened in Syria.

and Trump bombast do not constitute a "foreign policy."

The notion that we should just "take their oil" as a better alternative than "nation building" really highlights his fascist-militarization inclinations.

Unbelievable.

and that seem to be the only thing he know how to do. Lucky for us they are only about 30% of the population of course it would be a lot nicer if they were only 1/10 of 1% of our population

...from day one. The best we can hope for from them is they won't vote. The upside here is that it DIDN'T play well to the mostly bias media (Faux news excluded as always).

I guess they get paid well to unashamedly contradict reality.

They better not wait too long to cash those checks.

Can't you criticize his ideas? his words? the fact that he is touting for an idiot?

Please, we can be much better than this.

As has been said, criticize people for their actions and ideas, but leave the personal stuff out of it.

Clinton's stump speech was mostly stuff that I've heard her say before, but it was competent and clear what her main economic agenda is. Real goals that would make a big big difference for working families. But Biden was fabulous! His sincerity and anecdotes about American values that he learned growing up in Scranton were bright sunshine compared to Trump's "foreign policy" speech today in Ohio. His take down of Trump's candidacy was simply devastating. They were smart to hold their rally before Trump's today. Trump is such an empty suit.
