I am pretty sure that's a war crime and it would piss the Iraqis off even more, specially those who are sympathetic to us.

It would be like your neighbor stealing your car, driving it around where you could see him, just because he was stronger than you and the police wouldn't do anything about it.

7. I've heard a handful of times over the years conservatives

suggesting that we should just take Mideast oil, that we were owed it anyway. These were not-stupid, "respectable" people, even probably college educated. These are people I would trust to return my purse without problems, but most people, but especially conservatives and the more conservative the more prone, have literally very different codes of right and wrong for people and situations in or out of their "circle."

Btw, reminds me. Remember the old saying, "well, but that's business"? Younger DUers may not have heard it much, but it used to be very common, a way of saying that loosening the prohibitions on lying, cheating, stealing, defrauding is okay, even expected and sensible, if it's in a business context.
