My first hand observation of the GOP division in a RED state

Last week I had a booth in the expo building of our county fair. I live in a very red county in a very red state (Nebraska.) Every year, the Republican booth is bustling with activity, giving away balloons and stickers, representatives laughing with passers by about the democratic candidates. NOT THIS YEAR! The booth was empty most of the time, no one wanted to sit there and represent their party. No stickers, not one sign that said Trump, nothing! I spoke to dems at the Democratic booth and they said they had several people tell them they are voting for Hillary "just this one time." If this is happening here, of all places, I can only imagine how bad the division is elsewhere!

I'll be going to the Minnesota State Fair later this month - it's in a blue part of a mostly blue state, but the GOP booth always has a fair amount of activity. It will be interesting to see what turns up there this year. Will there be a few sad-looking souls trying to hand out leaflets from a cobweb-covered booth, or will the usual contingent of pot-bellied mouth-breathers show up for Agent Orange?

I know some people in Nebraska, used to have family there. They were all politically a bit to the right of Darth Vader but I have to wonder whether Trump might be too much.
