To paraphrase Frank Zappa, HELP, I'M A PUNDIT!!

Trump is toast. Hiillary sliding, Trump is rising! GOP replacing Trump with a worm! ANYTHING!

I get the distinct impression that the result of the presidential election is SUCH a foregone conclusion that the MSM punditry is making every drop of a pin into the next shot heard round the world. The more Trump spews outrage, the less of a contest they have to report. Trump isn't news because he's the new Adlai Stevenson. Trump is news because he's the new Idi Amin. That may be the level our media has sunk to. Count me out.

OK, I get that Democrats can't get smug or complacent, and have to run this campaign as fiercely as any other, but unless there's something Putin has on Hillary that has any veracity to it (as opposed to everything he's spewing out now via Foxtrump), it's the Senate, the House and the Statehouses that deserve our attention right now. You had better believe that is where the Kochs are focusing theirs.

I'm not saying we can ignore the presidential contest. It's vital to the future. No one has forgotten who makes nominations to the Supreme Court, or who confirms them. But while it's necessary to pay attention to that, it is not necessary to react as if tasered to every little "new" revelation of the Media or poll number by the Unbedeutend Institute in Nirgendwo, North Dakota.

I don't care HOW much insurance they need to sell. Tell me some real news, or shut up and tell me what's for dinner.

I want to flip Georgia, not Joe Scarborough.

If we need to choose between too many pundits or none at all, I'm rapidly tending toward the latter. Good thing I'm off back to Germany in 10 days!

We do need to keep an eye on the down-ticket races. It's part of the big view strategy that we should be following.

I too am increasingly tired of every damn tick up or down in the Presidential race. Of course we need to GOTV. But we sure don't need to be obsessed with all the variable polls that are constantly coming out daily.

Hope your work is coming along nicely. And have a great safe flight home!

And all I see in the news is people dancing the Foxtrump as usual. Even the Chronicle had a big article about Trump connecting with white voters in a small right wing Wisconsin town with a black popularion of 1% where the voters all"knew" that black families all had no fathers and five kids. How Hillary might conduct relations with Iran or Cuba deserves no column space, but this does?

Chris Mattews said where there is smoke there is fire concerning Sec. Clinton's medical records...he should know better. I was so angry, I did not watch any coverage last night.
