(17,199 posts)Had this been the 1950s, that sick type of justice that they wanted somebody from that darker place of society would have most certainly came to our homes, dragged us from our beds and hung us from trees in Central Park. It would have been similar to what they did to Emmett Till, Salaam said.

(58,785 posts)These days, with wannabe handlers all around, it seems to take about a good 2 days for him to do that and move on to an emotional point where his handlers can get him to understand he's hurt himself badly and has to change course.
And, yes, he's almost certainly incapable of feeling shame, or guilt. We see that he is not a whole, normal person. He likely does feel regret--for himself, though, seldom, perhaps never, for others.
