Letter to a neighbor who supports Trump

I wrote it but probably won't send it. Opinions?

Dear Neighbor and Donald Trump supporter,

I noticed your Trump signs and would like to ask you some questions.

1. Are you aware Mr. Trump has expressed admiration for Russian leader Vladimir Putin? Do you know Mr. Trump has also expressed political positions, for instance about NATO, that align with Mr. Putin’s positions? Are you aware that Mr. Trump’s first National Campaign Director Paul Manafort worked for the Pro-Russian Ukrainian leader Viktor Yanukovych? Do you know that Mr. Trump’s four bankruptcies make it difficult for him to borrow from American banks?

What is the extent, if any, of Mr. Trump’s financial indebtedness to Russia? We might know if Mr. Trump would release his tax returns, as other Presidential candidates have done. But he refuses to release his tax returns. If he does not release his tax returns before November, will you still support him?

2. Do you know that Mr. Trump’s father Fred Trump suffered from Alzheimer’s for the last six years of his life? Would you agree that Mr. Trump has said some ill-advised things that have cost him support and votes? Do you know that some of Mr. Trump’s words and acts have led people to suspect he has early-onset Alzheimer’s? Would you care to google “Trump Alzheimer’s" to see what others have written about the possibility that Mr. Trump is exhibiting early signs of Alzheimer’s?

Do you think Mr. Trump should release his medical records to show us he’s of sound mind? If he doesn’t release his medical records, will you still support him?

3. Do you recall when Mr. Trump said he had investigators in Hawaii investigating Obama’s birth records and they were uncovering “amazing” facts? What ever became of those “amazing facts”? If you think Mr. Trump was telling the truth, then why hasn’t he released the “facts”?

If Mr. Trump really does have facts that would show Obama is not a U.S. citizen then why hasn’t he released them all these years?

Look: I despise the guy, but it's a free country and if you want to have a Trump sign out you should be able to do so without any weird anonymous letters from neighbors.

Same if you are a Hillary supporter.

Same if you support Johnson.

Same even if you, against all reason, against all pulls of conscience, against logic, against history, against compassion, against whatever that substance is we term the human soul--if against all that, you support the craven, childish pretender Jill Stein.

One of the things you learn in life is that many truly wonderful people have misguided/awful political opinions. (And vice-versa: not all liberals are personally lovable.)

If it bugs you, put out a Hillary sign, or donate time/money to her campaign. Those are your options.

Do you have your own signs?

If you talk to them I'd suggest putting some money on it.

Opens up a lot of educational opportunities if their theoretical positions might cost them money in the real world.

Or they might be scary nut jobs incapable of reason in which case STAY AWAY!
