“Trump’s aides put together briefing books-not that candidate is devoting much time to reading them"

“Trump’s aides have put together briefing books, not that the candidate is devoting much time to reading them. Trump is not holding any mock debates, proudly boasting that a performer with his talents does not need that sort of prepping. Should Trump submit to traditional rehearsals, some associates are talking about casting Ingraham, an adversarial chronicler of Clinton scandals, to play the Democratic nominee.”

There will be no softballs in the upcoming debate, I think we can count on that. He is going to try bullshitting and it isn't going to work to well. Hillary on the other hand, wonk that she is, is going to be totally prepared. And she is going to remind everyone of the first 14 months of the Trump campaign. Count on that too.

Will the hosts let him get by with not really giving any specific replies, or will they go after him and demand a "real" answer? He got away with never giving any "specifics" during the primaries, and used the "your being mean" crap on the moderators. He has never really given any kind of actual plans on how he will do anything if he were to be elected. Those asking the questions need to keep going after him till he answers, or walks off the stage having a temper tantrum.

There is a sense of hysteria boiling under the surface and the knowledge that Trump is insane. It's not a game anymore. Journalists have to live in this country too and they're scared. Also, they know about shit going on that can't for one reason or another make into the news that must be frightening; meltdowns, fights, warring factions. I think the stakes have gotten so high that Trump isn't going to get away with a lot. He can't behave the way he did in the primary debates.

...Great answers--REALLY great answers. In fact, they'll be UNBELIEVABLY great answers, believe me! And he will be specific! So specific that we will be dazzled by his specificness, lemme tellya. And if you don't believe that his answers will be great, and amazingly specific, he'll want to punch you in the face, BELIEVE ME!

I say this as a 2008 Obama supporter who grew to dread the debates once it was just the two of them.

I was concerned that Trump would prepare and sound just coherent enough that the media would say he held his own no matter how much she destroys him. But if Trump doesn't prepare I don't see how he gets through it without a disaster.

I remember when the media thought Palin was good at the debate even though she did not answer the questions. She just went back to prepared one liners.
