Deep Red Arizona: Clinton leads Trump by 1

A new poll out of formerly deep-red Arizona finds Clinton leading Trump by 1 point:
Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton is neck and neck with Republican nominee Donald Trump in Arizona, according to a recent poll conducted by leading behavior research polling company, OH Predictive Insights.

In a survey of 728 likely Democrat, Republican, Independent and Non-Declared voters across Arizona, based on projected 2016 general election turnout, Democrat Hillary Clinton is leading by 1 percent, which is well within the margin of error over Republican Donald Trump.

In the last six presidential contests, Arizona was won by a Republican five times. The last Democratic candidate to carry Arizona was Bill Clinton two decades ago in 1996.

And that's not all:

That's...impressive. Clearly the Clinton camp thinks they can win Arizona and are serious about doing so.

If the race continues to be roughly a tie until election day, the Clinton ground game could definitely put her over the top...and if it takes down McCain and Arpaio along the way, so much the better!

Other polls in Arizona have been discouraging, so I am glad to see one that looks good. Is this a good pollster?

I take this as significant polling considering the push to GOTV & adding 20 new offices.

Must be close enough!
Would that be a kick in the repubs a** if she won AZ.

I can tell you what I have seen. I know one person who refuses to discuss his political leanings, but I'm pretty sure he is a Trump supporter. Nobody else in my peer group appears to be anything less than disgusted by Trump. (I am in my 40's) Most of them are also disgusted by Sheriff Joe and John McCain. The only people who have openly supported Trump are my relatives all over the age of 65.

This is extremely different from the 2012 election. Many people I know were proud Romney supporters. Now, it seems that most are voting Clinton or Johnson.

..national poll.
There's a reason Dems are expanding 20 offices in AZ.
They wouldn't be so agressive if there was little hope.

There seems to be a lot of hope & positive news for Dems this election. We just have to bring it all home on Nov 8.

Very good news. Thanks for the inside info!

...and yes, there are PLENTY of common-sense Arizonans of all political persuasions that realize electing Donald Trump would be a COLOSSAL MISTAKE. Admittedly many are voting against Trump and not for Hillary, however, little-by-little, you can feel that changing also.

In addition, Joe "worst sheriff in America" Arpaio is facing a credible challenger, AND facing a federal indictment. His $4 million Faux News war chest may not pull him out of the fire this time.

..with a Dem Senate behind her..then we'll take all the votes we can get. Like her or not the goal is the Oval Office..the power of the pen.

Good news to hear from the front lines in AZ.
Thanks!
