Media effort to get Trump back into race seems to be working

The coordinate strategy between the new "Breibart led" Trump campaign and the media to get Trump back into the race seems to be working, as a new poll shows the race tightening up. No doubt in my mind that the fallacy of this new "on message" Trump was a coordinated effort between his campaign and the MSM.

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/hillary-clintons-lead-cut-half-national-poll/story?id=41721339

Hillary Clinton’s wide lead over Donald Trump in the race for the White House has been cut in half, according to a new national Monmouth University poll released today.

The Democratic nominee held a wide 50 percent to 37 percent lead in the wake of her party’s convention in a Monmouth poll in early August, but now that lead appears to have tightened to 7 percentage points -- 46 percent to 39 percent among likely voters.

But Trump still faces a statistically significant deficit with just 70 days remaining until Election Day. The race was tighter -- 45 percent to 43 percent -- in July.

You notice he can't get out if the 40 39 range You notice also hill loses points but trump doesn't really gain ? I find it hard to believe she just loses this race automatically because the media says it GOTV and fight like hell If we get trump as president forget it we will be done Anecdotally I know many R voters who will not vote for him

No matter what the margin of Clintons lead is Trump is about 38 or 39 percent in every poll I see. Meaning? He just isn't increasing the number of people supporting him. I think he is topped out. And even with a couple of minor third party candidates on the ballot 38 or 39 percent just isn't going to cut it.

Which is a little worrisome. National polls are not that important but they are useful for showing trends, and they tend to be more current than state polls, which are usually conducted over a longer period and not released right away.

If its tightening like this lets say Donald somehow catches up with Clinton That would be not totally out of the realm of possibility if that's the case then my gut tells me no matter what he says and he still becomes president I just give up on people I mean I'm generally a worry Warr sometime but my faith in this country would go out the window

(not personally) after decades of slander against her that her numbers can drop after even the most bullshit of attacks.

This seems to be both what would be some natural tightening and also the hit she is taking from the bullshit over the Foundation.

That was the last shoe to drop that you could see coming, so hopefully there is nothing else, but you obviously can't rule out some kind of fantastical bullshit being generated against her.

such as:

- emails again and again and again
- stupid innuendo about the Clinton foundation

compare this to:
- trump is paying himself from his own campaign at whatever rate he chooses - to the tunes of millions (so the Clinton foundation gives money to the poor is a bigger deal to the right-wing media than trump enriching himself)
- trump not releasing his tax records
- trump releasing an obviously bogus medical report.

A Quinnipiac poll on Thursday had her with a 10 point lead I believe. Don't read too much into individual poll numbers. I believe the RCP poll average has held fairly steady around 6-7 points over the last several weeks.

We've seen this before: Republican efforts to kill the economy have failed, they have a hateful candidate that no informed voter likes, gasoline is cheap and Congress isn't planning to do anything interesting after their August recess.

So the press tries to make it a horse race. They focus on the loser and the disparity in coverage temporarily boosts his name recognition. Some pollsters monkey with the "likely voter" filter. The outliers get more coverage than the more accurate ones. And to some extent, it probably does move the herd, temporarily.

But just as in '96, the insiders already see the writing on the wall and this time, it's in bloody red letters ten feet tall. The money knows where to go and so do the politicians: away from the dumpster fire.

Pollsters and press both have an interest in keeping things interesting in the doldrums of August and September. But come October the pollsters and the press both have an interest in calling it straight, or they risk not getting calls at all four years from now.

Everyone knows god damned well it was a political hit job by the scumbag, but the media will never call it for what it is or correct the record because the need this hit on Hillary to even things up somewhat.

Mother fuckers, this is why we spent 6 years of absolutely nothing happening in this country because Rs see control of congress as literally nothing more than a means to try to destroy a democratic president, and they NEVER, NEVER get called on it, and why assuming this plays out like it looks like it will that it will be the same god damned thing for the next four years.

During the 1992 Superbowl, the announcers (media) did their best to make the game seem competitive as late as the third quarter to keep people watching the game for the sake of commercialism.

But Buffalo never had a chance... despite the approbation and worry from Cowboy "fans" (often wearing Buffalo t-shirts surreptitiously one might guess) who said "that lone TD by the Bills in the third quarter is VERY concerning..."

52-17 was a satisfying route. Seems November may see numbers like that again.

Competitive! Close! Chiefs outgain the Pack in total yards, 181–164! Shocker!

Final: Packers 35, Chiefs 10. As expected, but they kept those viewer-butts glued to the chairs.

There's big $$$$ in keeping the race tight, tighter...

Trump is not stable, and is unable to keep his fat mouth shut. As long as he keeps on blabbering about minorities, he will continue to tank in the polls, until he is defeated by a wide margin in November.

In the meantime, we must encourage everybody we know to get out and vote for HRC. Every vote counts.
