Trump Moves To Destroy The Free Press By Blocking US Media From Mexico Trip

Well, look at what the media got for mollycoddling that buffoon:

Donald Trump has made his intention to destroy the free press clear during his campaign, but US media got a taste of Trump’s plans when he told all of the traveling press covering him that they wouldn’t be allowed on his trip to Mexico.

Reporters who are traveling with his campaign broke the news that the US press will not be allowed on Mexico trip:

Trump is setting a distressing precedent today. He's traveling to Mexico. His traveling press has not been invited along. We're in Phoenix.

1. Pretty sure most press services have offices in Mexico. CNN can afford to pay for their employees

Mexico also have some pretty fair news organizations. Trump isn't going to get off so easy.

There may be American press on the trip, but they will be only from Trump friendly propaganda outfits. Nobody should be surprised if Trump calls on a “reporter” from Breitbart to ask a question.

Press is granted access.
ID badges, approved lists, security,
press credentials don't just magically appear
Campaigns and administration allow access.
If they don't let you in, you don't get in.

It's not his domain and they could apply to Mexico. And now that it's over, I noticed his stricture didn't keep people out, apparently some reporters were even yelling questions at him from inside the room. Questions which he answered.

3. How about the press just stop covering him entirely?

They've already given him about ten campaigns-worth of free coverage. Don't let Trump control the media.

It's not breaking news that he's meeting with Mexico, it' is breaking news that he's running a human trafficking ring that deliberately violates immigration laws.

Drumpf values the media. He'd put up barriers everywhere as president.

Not inviting the press helps Trump have his cake and eat it too. It's less likely that any protests will be covered in detail. FWIW Trump's approval ratings in Mexico hover around 6% and Mexican President Nieto's approval ratings are south of 30% so I'm not quite sure what they have to talk about or how this trip is in any way beneficial to each man. It seems that their agendas will be a contradictory.

But I fully expect Trump to pull a sheet of paper from his jacket pocket later this evening and announce that a deal has been struck with Mexico to ensure "Peace in our time." It will be bullshit but Trump doesn't really care about lying to the American public.

Perhaps the people who write the checks to the "journalists" and "reporters" will see they will have no access and their networks will crumble. All news will be found on Fox and Trump networks, or Trump Network only.
