I think PA is (as usual) a wet dream for the GOP and Clinton will win by at least as much as Obama did (5%) or better.

I was heartened to see it, that has been one of the "battle ground" states that has been a real "toss up."

PA is right where it should be. I live her and she NEVER was or is going to blow him out by 10 her, at the same time things have to be REALLY bad for it go red.

Despite getting crushed there in the primary, losing big to Hillary among blue collar whites.

Given that she defeated Obama handily in PA in the 2008 primary, I don't see why Hillary can't do as well as he did there.

36. It isn't 2008 and she isn't BHO
Fri Sep 2, 2016, 02:33 PM
Sep 2016

2008 was completely different dynamics than this year.

8 years of Bush, the Rs were much more passive and Ds were wanted blood.

8 years of BHO and the Rs want blood and Ds are not near as energized.

Typical dynamics from a POTUS coming off an 8 year term.

BHO was a more dynamic public figure, Hillary does not have his charm and has a quarter century of slander piled on her with the second lowest favorables of any POTUS candidate vs BHO who had such a limited resume he had a lot less "baggage" real or otherwise.

You can see the difference where I live.

There were about as many BHO signs as McCain signs in an area that is overall republican but with a pretty liberal section.

Right now, I can count on one hand the number of Hillary signs ...

She is NOT winning PA by 10 ... One edit, unless somehow Trump finds a way to do something(s) even more horrific than he already has.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/05/ppp-to-poll-for-daily-kos_n_672414.html

A study by Fordham University found that, of 28 firms studied, PPP had the most accurate poll on the presidential national popular vote, both its independently conducted poll and the one it does in collaboration with Daily Kos and the SEIU.[17] PPP correctly called the winner of the presidential election in all 19 states it polled in the final week of the election, as well as the winners of all the U.S. Senate and gubernatorial races it surveyed.

PPP is described as one of the "most accurate" polling companies[3][4] with a tendency to slightly lean Republican.[5]

Your first source was dated 08/05/2010, with an update 05/25/2011 (any more recent info?), and I only got the impression that Daily KOS utilizes PPP for its polling data, as it has a proven track record.

"Seems to me they've done lots of good (if not always perfect) work in the past," I said. That's disparaging?

I have almost exclusively good associations with PPP in part because rightly or wrongly (and the sources I cited strongly suggest rightly) I've always associated them with Daily Kos.

And if PPP results tend to overstate Republican strength a little, so much the better. I'd rather have the polls from "our side" making things look a little better for the Republicans so that we never let our guards down. Wouldn't you?

Jeezuz H. Christ, what's going on here?

I should hope not!

If anything, I'd like to be far more confident of the veracity of work associated with "my" side. Wouldn't you?

And which is it: Am I suggesting that PPP is biased toward the left ... or is my crime that of saying favorable things about a polling firm leaning toward the other side? Can't be both, now, can it?

30. If DU were affiliated with a pollster ...
Fri Sep 2, 2016, 11:12 AM
Sep 2016

... wouldn't you want to believe that the pollster was doing a good job for us? Surely you wouldn't just automatically assume that our pollster was basically lying to us to tell us things we'd like to read, would you? I would not be inclined to make such assumptions.

I'd prefer to think that "our" pollsters are NOT biased toward the candidates we support, but rather that they are giving us accurate intelligence: the good the bad and the ugly. Reasonably or not, that's what I'd expect. Like a damn fool, perhaps, I'd expect people on "my" side to care about the truth.
