Related: About this forumChuck Todd: ‘Bothers Me as an American Citizen’ the FBI Didn’t Record Clinton Interview
This guy is taking up valuable air space. He needs to be relegated to the dustbin of history (or worse).
Ron Fournier wholeheartedly agreed with Todd that even if it was protocol, it seems kind of important to have a recordingor at least a transcriptof what was actually said for future review.
Are you kidding me?! Todd cried. Were releasing notes?!
Forget that it's protocol, the Toad thinks he knows how the FBI should be conducting their business. I can handle brilliant people being obnoxious, and I can deal with stupid people who try really, really hard, and are nice about it, but when you're inept and obnoxious, it is TIME TO GO!
And in case you are interested in why it has not been protocol for the FBI or other major law enforcement agencies - why they are strongly against recording interviews/interrogations, this article gives a good summary. And the most obvious aspect of this, which the Toad could not seem to wrap his thick head around, is the "extremely sensitive material found on Clinton's server." Even with Holder's new policy that favors interviews & interrogations be recorded (not mandatory), it only applies to individuals in federal custody (which Hillary was not). I think it is interesting to also note that one of the exceptions to this policy is when the individual being interviewed or interrogated simply requests they not be recorded. http://lawnewz.com/high-profile/so-why-the-heck-wasnt-hillary-clintons-fbi-interview-recorded/

(5,942 posts)I just don't get how he came this far this fast. He went from #2 in influence down to #90 in 2013. I wonder where he is currently ranked. He had to work his way up in the ranks of Hotline to be noticed by Russert and brought to NBC. Hotline was (still is?) nonpartisan. I'd love to know if he's always been such a lousy journalist.

I'm kidding, I'm sure he would have thought it was just peachy. They are not subject to The Clinton Rules, after all.

(65,403 posts)they follow when reporting on Hillary. I am listing headings for the rules he enumerates, but not including his explanation of each rule, to avoid quoting more than is permissible:
Updated by Jonathan Allen on September 3, 2016, 9:34 a.m. ET jon@vox.com
1) Everything, no matter how ludicrous-sounding, is worthy of a full investigation by federal agencies, Congress, the "vast right-wing conspiracy," and mainstream media outlets.
2) Every allegation, no matter how ludicrous, is believable until it can be proven completely and utterly false. And even then, it keeps a life of its own in the conservative media world.
3) The media assumes that Clinton is acting in bad faith until there's hard evidence otherwise.
4) Everything is newsworthy because the Clintons are the equivalent of America's royal family.
5) Everything she does is fake and calculated for maximum political benefit.

He made the same statement.

(2,004 posts)Was he asked to leave for "some" reason. Did he have "something" to do with the failure of Tom Harkin's presidential run? Has he ever produced his college transcripts or his tax returns? What charities does he support? Someone in as powerful position as Todd should be investigated very thoroughly. He is allowed to pontificate endlessly on Hillary Clinton, while no one investigates his qualifications, ethical challenges, or improprieties.
He cannot even pronounce the word "potpourri" correctly. He also cannot tell the difference between a rather small sewage treatment plant and an oil refinery.
It would be very helpful for a real investigative reporter investigate how such a know-nothing has been promoted to such a powerful pundit position.
Todd is very good at spewing right wing talking points attacking Hillary Clinton. Perhaps, he is just another mediocre, privileged, insecure white man, like Fournier and Brooks, who got where they are by sucking up to very rich business men. That might be the result of an investigation.

(5,942 posts)who leaves 6 credits short of graduating?
greatlaurel
(2,004 posts)Most universities would work with the student so they could take independent study classes for 6 credits if they got a job and could not attend classes. That close to graduation often means a student got kicked out for violating the code of conduct. I am sure that is not the case, but if he would have to prove it. Hmmm. He always assumes Democratic politicians, particularly HRC, are hiding something. Is he the classic case of projection?
It would be very easy for someone like Todd to be blackmailed by unethical right wing political operatives to favor their side over the Democratic Party candidates. He is always tipping the scales with snide little talking points against the Democratic Party candidates. This should be investigated and he should have to produce the college transcript and the "real" reason he did not graduate. It really is only fair. If this were a Dean, Clinton, Kerry or Obama, they would have to show the world.
I am certainly not accusing him of anything, but considering the level of scrutiny Democratic Party politicians are subjected to, it would make sense for the public had better vetting of the pundits that push the attacks against Democrats.
