2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhere is Hillary?
Deserving or not, this hasnt been a bad week for Trump, and he's dominated the news cycle. When they do talk about Hillary, they are talking about the FBI Report. I havent really heard much from Hillary recently. She's gotta do something to take the news cycles and put a positive spin on things for her.

(170 posts)It wasn't a good week for trump either because of the immigration speech. She will begin campaigning tomorrow.

(364 posts)They need to fundraise and they (the hillary team) intentionally figured the last two weeks of August before labor day is the best time to do that so that they can concentrate on campaigning after labor day. She was not going to be very seen during fund raising, and she did raise A lot. So, I think this is planned, and going well.

(52 posts)She is getting ready for the knock out blow during the debate. Remember how quiet her campaign remained while trump made a fool of the repug convention and then she knocked everyone's socks off at Democratic convention.

(14,918 posts)although they will appear sequentially, town hall style, and not on the stage at the same time. She will be speaking at two different Labor Day events tomorrow, in Ohio and Illinois, and on the 6th she will hold a rally in Tampa. In addition to the speech that another poster noted above, she released a major mental health initiative this week. She has been busier than you seem to think.

(108,978 posts)is really for the little guy, while Hillary goes after the "ultrarich."
Trump's the one whose foundation gave $100,000 to the Citizens United foundation a year before he started campaigning against the Citizens United SCOTUS decision.
Hillary's "ultrarich" are the kind of people who support civil rights, including a woman's right to choose; actions on climate change and preserving the environment; a $15 minimum wage; and equality without regard to gender, race, orientation, and religion.
Trump and his supporters oppose all of that.

(130,908 posts)P.S. My landlord's wife and sister among those visiting with HRC in New England. Haven't thought of them as 'ultrarich,' but I'm not familiar with their check book. They are sending triplets through colleges.
