Confessions of a Clinton reporter: The media's 5 unspoken rules for covering Hillary

Here is a nice article explaining why the AP can make up a story about about pay to play with the Clinton Foundation based on a distorted presentation of the facts while actual evidence that Trump used his charities to funnel bribes to public officials is generally ignored.

http://www.vox.com/2015/7/6/8900143/hillary-clinton-reporting-rules

The Clinton rules are driven by reporters' and editors' desire to score the ultimate prize in contemporary journalism: the scoop that brings down Hillary Clinton and her family's political empire. At least in that way, Republicans and the media have a common interest.

* * *

1) Everything, no matter how ludicrous-sounding, is worthy of a full investigation by federal agencies, Congress, the "vast right-wing conspiracy," and mainstream media outlets.

2) Every allegation, no matter how ludicrous, is believable until it can be proven completely and utterly false. And even then, it keeps a life of its own in the conservative media world.

3) The media assumes that Clinton is acting in bad faith until there's hard evidence otherwise.

4) Everything is newsworthy because the Clintons are the equivalent of America's royal family

5) Everything she does is fake and calculated for maximum political benefit

5. I wouldn't be so concerned or cynical about how it all is because they are betting horses to place

Obviously if they couldn't get the first choice of theirs most obviously they would also bet on a next logical choice. It only goes to show that if you bet in their casino that they set up, eventually you will lose every time. It's just that simple and only revolutions from inside or forces from outside can ever change it. Power in human hands never concedes nothing

Course others caught that limburger disease back then too.

It's going to take a hell of a job by them junta this time though, so many diverse ways to get information and give it out. It's going to be like trying to put humpty back together.

on edit to clarify: I beleive the media has placed a ridiculous amount of scrutiny on Clinton and if clinton is involved they give credence to outlandish claims and place high value on "non' or very low priority issues.

In no way was I meaning to imply anything negative about hillary clinton

...by the corporate media spin. In sharp contrast, Trump can do a triple flip flop in one interview, but because narrative is that Trump "tells it like it is" His followers have no trouble with his crazy lies.

Just standard procedure for them to infer all things associated with clinton are bad .... and conversely give legitimacy to the short fingered vulgarian (easily the most incompetent candidate for POTUS in modern times)

we haven't been having.

Abridged version: Clinton is presumed guilty until proven innocent 1000 times. 999 won't cut it.

The election, when they've lost. I may not be alone in almost expecting 24-7 fake outrage and bogus investigations.

I no longer leave idiotic statements of her presumed guilt alone, but am now that asshole who won't let an insult lay there unresponded to.

Yes, my sig line talks about loving others. I can love them and fight with them at the same time.

This is a mea culpa by one of the D.C. press corps most senior journalists, Jonathan Allen. This is by one of the top chronicles of Clintonian spin and scandal, fessing up publicly to how he and his fellows in the Washington press corps write about the Clinton's.

I'm a true blue Berniac, though not a Bernie or buster, and I this piece makes a big, big difference to how I'm viewing Hillary.

No matter how shady or ludicrous. Everything is accepted as truth even if he's flopped his position several times.
