How on earth did Ann Romney's Latino outreach fail so terribly?

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/08/ann-romney-switches-focus-from-wooing-women-to-hispanic-voters/

I thought, it’s also very important that the Latino community recognize how important this election is for them,” Romney said. “And they are mistaken if they think they are going to be better off with Barack Obama as their president. There really is only one way for prosperity, for small business, and that is, this is the simplest way I can say this: If Mitt Romney wins, America wins.”

Hispanics are an important voting bloc, especially in this battleground state. Romney said she’s speaking out to make “sure that those coalitions,” referring to women and Hispanic voters, “that would naturally be voting for another party wake up and say, You’d better really look at the issues this time.”

You’d better really look at your future and figure out who’s going to be the guy that’s going to make it better for you and your children, and there is only one answer,” Mrs. Romney said, giving a harsher pitch than we usually hear from the woman who wants to be the next first lady.

“It really is a message that would resonate well if they could just get past some of their biases that have been there from the Democratic machines that have made us look like we don’t care about this community,” Romney said. “And that is not true. We very much care about you and your families and the opportunities that are there for you and your families.”

Nothing voters appreciate more than some overprivileged aristocrat lecturing them.

In the running as the most clueless use of a phrase this year.

Their bias against "self deportation" and papers, please? That kind of thing?

5. I can't understand why Latinos would be biased against people advising them to "self-deport" or

who pass laws allowing them to be stopped and detained until they can produce proof of citizenship. Where do they think they are, anyway, in a free country? Oh wait.......

Ann tells Latinos "they are mistaken", to "wake up and really look at the issues this time", "really look at your future, and figure out...", "if they could just get past some of their biases...."

Really hard to figure out why Anne could not get through to those biased mistaken and sleeping Latino voters! It is a mystery.

Ann Romney if not born into wealth would have been one of those ignorant trashy old ladies McCain had to silence about O being a Muslim.

they just throw a bunch of words out there and absolutely AVOID issues
that latinos care about. the romneys and the rest of the republicans did
the same EXACT thing when trying to court the womens vote.

just saying over and over again, that "we care about you" and the biggest
womens issue or latino issue is the economy, is just showing pure ignorance
and ARROGANCE. they willingly bury their heads in the sand and insist that
everyone else does the same.
