Apparently Gary Johnson doesn't know who Harriet Tubman is either

One reporter asked him about the lack of diversity in the Libertarian Party, which, as some people remember from college dorm-room discussions, tends to attract a disproportionate number of young white males. Johnson said that there was no diversity problem, and that the Party would do better in nonwhite communities as he became better known. A few minutes later, an aide directed him to a room in the convention center that was named for Harriet Tubman. “Who’s Harriet Tubman?” Johnson asked. (After the aide reminded him who Tubman was, Johnson recalled that she will appear on a new twenty-dollar bill.)

It's been proven that you remember things better when you are in the same state of intoxication as when you learned them. I still remember that from college thirty years ago.

Which means for me to remember college I need not just weed but copious quantities of extremely cheap beer.

Just for starts.

They cannot be bothered with learning anything that is not relevant to their immediate interests.

That is why they do not read newspapers or watch the news, apparently. How does anyone with any interest in world affairs not know about Aleppo? That seems impossible to me.

Gary Johnson, like many libertarians, knows only what he wishes to know. Nobody can force him to learn anything about which he is uninterested. That would be anti-liberty. Libertarians can be as ignorant as they wish to be, and prefer not to be questioned on it.

I have an aunt and several close friends who are libertarians, and as much as I disagree with them, I don't think anyone who knows them could call any of them stupid. Most of them are software programmers at top companies with genius IQ's, and can argue their positions very well. I have strong disagreements with them because we fundamentally differ on the proper roll of the government, but the ones I know are nothing like the dumbass Republicans who learn everything they know from Rush Limbaugh or Faux News.

How can a person running for President not be aware of Aleppo and its prominence in the news right now? It takes a deliberate effort to avoid such prominent news. Johnson is the Libertarian candidate for President. He is deliberately ignorant of current international events. Disqualifying, I call it.

And all of them strongly dislike Gary Johnson. They will hold their noses and vote for him, but they see him as a washed up Republican and not a true libertarian. One of them resigned his membership in the LP because he is tired of the party getting taken over by Republicans who want to smoke pot.

...that's some prime ignorance there.

What kind of person would ask to be our nation's president without a basic understanding of our history? ...of which Harriet Tubman had an integral and vital role for so many in her time, inspiring generations thereafter.

Where has this man been living?
