If there is anything women really like, it is for sure when men tell them to smile. I cannot tell you how my quick runs to the grocery store for half & half, my bus trips, and even my time sitting at a bar waiting for a friend to arrive are vastly improved by the addition of some random dude I don’t know asking me to SMILE. Especially because sometimes I forget — my ladybrain is very forgetful sometimes! — that I am supposed to be SMILING. Especially when reading or having a private discussion about a serious matter or contemplating Schopenhauer’s theory of aesthetics! I always appreciate some good advice from a man I don’t know on how to arrange my face.

Last night, during the Commander-In-Chief Forum, Hillary Clinton was discussing some pretty heavy subjects! Like war ‘n’ stuff! And guess what? She forgot to SMILE! Thankfully, RNC chair Reince Priebus was ON THE CASE.



C’MON PRETTY LADY, can’t Reince get a little smile here? Grey skies are gonna clear up, put on a happy face! Just direct your feet to the sunny side of the Pentagon! Happy days are here again! Forget your email troubles, c’mon get happy! Smile though your heart is breaking over the fact that you actually have to run against Donald Trump and not enough people realize how bizarre that actually is!

Alas! This attempt to make Hillary Clinton out to be the Jane Withers of the Commander-In-Chief debate backfired, as millions of women across Twitter reminded Priebus that it is actually pretty obnoxious to tell women what to do with their faces! And also that she was talking about the kind of serious issues that do not quite lend themselves to smiling like an idiot.

Not a sneer, not a smirk - a relaxed, happy smile. I can not even picture it. I have seen photos (and video) where Hillary Clinton has smiled warmly at a pleasant thing or person. Obama has a wonderful smile.

The key word might be "relaxed" - Trump never is relaxed.
