2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIf you get a chance, watch the repeat of The Last Word; it was brilliant!
Tonight's show was probably the best political show I have ever seen on MSNBC. It was a complete takedown of the media and their coverage of this campaign. And, it took guts because he was criticizing his own network.
The good stuff is at the beginning of the show, but the whole show is good!
Good job, Lawrence!

(11,605 posts)On Twitter, it seems that Rachel Maddow joined in the bashing Hillary for "lack of transparency." Very disappointing.

(51,020 posts)She went through others with similar situations or health concerns. She then topped it off with a doctor that basically said what happen is not uncommon or out of character based on the release of Clinton's health record.

(10,103 posts)I used to love her. Now she talks like her audience are all 5 year olds and she's the smartest person in the world. But I must admit, I am avoiding political coverage on corporate media altogether, I just can't take the insipid spokespeople spewing the same tripe over and over. I do realize she's a lot smarter than me. Just my humble opinion.
Peace

(10,419 posts)Never watched The West Wing and had no idea he was a writer for the show. Will have to add to my Netflix list.
And he's the only broadcaster I've seen bring serious attention to the (Lakota?) Sioux in North Dakota.

(1,779 posts)Trump and Hillary accurately.
He said that Trump wants to lower taxes, and Hillary wants to raise them. But what he omitted was that Hillary wants to raise the taxes on the richest Americans and Trump wants to lower them on the richest Americans.
I don't think there was an accident--I think that is a policy of MSNBC. To misrepresent the progressive view of how to pay to meet the needs of the country, to equalizing the lot of everyone in the country, to helping ensure we all work for the common good, etc.
Anyone else notice this inaccuracy?

(1,779 posts)There are many reasons to state the differences as raising or lowering taxes on the richest earners, and in large part it goes to fairness, and also to correcting the system of financing elections.
I sure agree with Thom Hartmann about these issues.

(1,301 posts)....always does his homework!!I look forward to his show each night. He is factual;allows guests to speak , does not make the show about him.
Rachel is smart but makes a case with all the giggling/machinations /adjectives she can muster.
Then she has a guest in and says "Did I understand or leave anything out?"They agree with her and leave ...
I can no longer watch her.
