2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHillary will outperform her poll numbers on election Day and here is why.
I listened to the Upshot podcast today and a reporter recalled her trip to Las Vegas prior to the Nevada Caucus. She first visited a Clinton campaign office and inside were 20 volunteers calling voter and urging them, in Spanish, to turn out and vote for "La Hillary". She then drove across town to one of Bernie's offices where there were a dozen reporters and three volunteers. And the volunteers spent more time chatting with each other than calling.
Now, the reporter was not kicking the Sanders campaign or implying every office looked the same. But what she did see was one candidate generated big crowds and boisterous supporters while the other quietly built the machinery to bring out more casual, less intense Democratic voters in the big primary states. Trump may have the big rooms and big noise, but Hillary has 20 campaign offices in Florida alone. That is how she will turn a narrow win into a sizable win on Election Day.
