George Bush (41): I'm with her

Last edited Tue Sep 20, 2016, 04:29 PM - Edit history (3)

Posed on Facebook and confirmed by the former president.

Bush told a bipartisan group of about 40 people about his intentions during some kind of meeting. One of the Kennedy women was there and put it on Facebook. Bush never intended that info to get out to the public, but when asked by a reporter, he confirmed the report. The Facebook post has since been removed, but the President's intentions have been confirmed.

He said he would be casting his vote as a private citizen and would not say who he was voting for. Did I misread that?

"The vote President Bush will cast as a private citizen in some 50 days will be just that: a private vote cast in some 50 days. He is not commenting on the presidential race in the interim," Bush spokesman Jim McGrath said in a statement."

However, there is no getting around the fact that their were many of the 40 people or so at the gathering who heard what he said. His spokesperson does not have to confirm it.

From the article that you posted:

Representatives of the Bush family are declining to publicly acknowledge the former president's decision. But sources close to Bush tell CNN that he shared his plans with board members of the bipartisan Points of Light Foundation during what he believed was a private gathering Monday in Kennebunkport, Maine.

Bush did not make a formal announcement during the meeting, and it's not clear everyone in the room heard him, although multiple sources did.
