(23,973 posts)2. Fordham is a Jesuit University. Jesuits are fiercely intellectual.
As a person educated in a Jesuit institution, I would argue that they are not a 'conservative' college at all.
The Society of Jesus welcomes robust discussion, but rejects those who would espouse bigotry.

(50,950 posts)3. I went to one too. I recall a liberal speaker who was invited to the school
over the violent objections of a lot of the conservative parents. The school fought the conservatives off and had the speaker, and lost a lot of donor money in the process. This was 30 (good God!) years ago.
I've always been grateful for them for that.
