Wouldn't the element of surprise have been better and more effective?

I believe that was the first reference to it.

(15,290 posts)After the debate, media is going to flock to Cuban for comment. He's probably a bigger reality TV star than Trump and "Shark Tank" airs on both ABC and CNBC (NBC).
Cuban is also smart and direct when he speaks. He's not afraid to call a spade, a spade either. I got to see him endorse Hillary in Pgh and he gave a great speech. He'll be a terrific post-debate surrogate.

(13,783 posts)... anywhere else, like Google news or on cable. Why is he a player in this election? I Googled him and understand that he owns lots of businesses.

(61,698 posts)He wasn't handed $1m by daddy to start a business like Trump. He's smart, takes initiative, and seems to understand what will be "the next big thing."
And he owns the Dallas Mavericks.

Do people see his invite to the debates as an in-your-face attack on Trump because Cuban too is a rich media friendly person? But with, it sounds like, more credibility?

(58,706 posts)Most rich folks do, normally, but he's showing himself to be a "smart rich guy" this cycle. From what I've heard, most of the super rich are not supporting Trump like he thinks they should. Cuban probably thinks Clinton is a safer choice than Trump when it comes to protecting his personal wealth and empire.

(61,698 posts)I think he's in now because he sees what what a mess trump could make of everything.

(15,290 posts)He's probably center-right by temperment, but he's said he'd support a businessman for president, but only if that businessman/woman studied the issues facing the country and offered real solutions. He's appalled Trump has no interest in policy. Thus the 10M challenge to Trump to answer questions from him. Like many Americans, he's looking for the non-partisan problem-solver candidate. I'd guess that if Michael Bloomberg had run for president, he'd be the kind of candidate Cuban would get behind. Failing that, Hillary is the next best thing.
When Cuban spoke at Hillary's first Pgh rally after the DNC, he detailed his employment and business career. He was fired from a lot of jobs early on. He got rich by figuring out how to get sports broadcasts to work over the internet. That turned into broadcast.com, iirc, then he sold that service. He bascially invented what's turned into today's internet streaming. The cool thing he's always done is to encourage his employees to invest in their company. When he sold the internet broadcast service, he said he made 300 of his employees, some of whom were min wagers, millionaires.
