7 percent say dog on car roof story makes them MORE likely to vote for mittens

(turns out these people are even more vile than even WE think)

Seven Percent Claim Dog On Car Roof Story Makes Them MORE Likely To Vote Romney

Has this GOP primary truly gone to the dogs? We’re now at a point where we’re polling on who would be the best president to man’s best friend.

Not surprisingly, Mitt Romney is scoring low on that scale after having tied his family dog Seamus’s carrier to the top of his car while on a road trip, claiming the dog loved it. What is surprising in the polling is that nearly one in ten people say the story made them more likely to want to vote for Romney. Mother Jones reports, “Public Policy Polling (PPP) has surveyed the issue, and got an extraordinary result: Seven percent of the American public say the dog-on-car-roof story makes them more likely to vote for Mr. Romney, and a stunning 14 percent say this is a ‘humane’ way to transport a dog. Yes, that’s what they said.”

So, what’s so ‘humane’ about locking a dog in a mostly closed large box and careening down the highway, not even stopping until the dog literally defecated to the point where it streamed down the back windshield? Sadly, that question wasn’t answered. But of those who find it inhumane, the political division is pretty close to even — “74% of Democrats, 66% of independents, and 63% of Republicans think it’s inhumane to strap the family dog to the top of the car.”

There. We’ve finally found a topic that most people can agree on, despite their party affiliation.

2. When you consider how many pets are mistreated in the US, is this any surprise?

I do take solace in the fact that even 63% of Republicans think what Romney did to Seamus is inhumane.

"humane" makes me quite ill.

6. Let's also remember, the vast majority of people think this was wrong, regardless of ideology.

Most Americans don't mistreat their pets like Mitt Romney did.

Like I said, it does give me a small sliver of hope that even 63% of Republicans think this was wrong. It means most Republicans may have the wrong ideas regarding the economy, social issues and foreign policy, but even they realize that Romney was just plain abusive to poor Seamus.

if I knew my neighbor thought like this I would make sure to improve the security of my home. Probably video facing their home. I sure wouldn't talk to them and I would make sure the other neighbors would watch for anything suspicious. I say this knowing I really don't know my neighbors currently, but I would do what I can to make sure they know they live close to an at risk of being violent person.
