I've been following the odds on PaddyPower for a while, and they changed tonight.

I've been following the odds on PaddyPower.

Before the debate these were the odds, and they have been stable for a few weeks:

Hillary Clinton
8/15
Donald Trump
17/10

And after:

Hillary Clinton
4/9
Donald Trump
23/10

If the front number is lower, the odds are in the favor of that person/horse/etc winning. A high number in front means the odds are against a win, so the payout is higher because the risk is higher.

I'm keeping it simple by just giving dollar amounts to the odds, but it you bet a different number it would return at the same ratio. Of course you'd be betting on who would win the election.

Hillary Clinton
8/15
If you bet 15 dollars on Clinton and she won, you'd get 8 back.

Donald Trump
17/10
If you bet 10 dollars that Trump won, you'd get 17 back.

And after the debate:

Hillary Clinton
4/9
If you bet 9 on Clinton, you'd get 4 back.

Donald Trump
23/10
If you bet 10 on Trump you'd get 23 back.

Before the debate you saw offers of $8.00 vs $15.00 for Hillary to win. So she was just under a 2-1 favorite. Now it's $4.00 vs $9.00, so she's just over a 2-1 favorite.

I think I'm just adding to the confusion.

Bob: 4/9 means bet 9 to net 4, which means you get back 13.
23/10 means bet 10 to net 23 which gives you back 33.
